Our Level 3 Paediatric First Aid course uses a convenient blended learning format - complete interactive online modules at your own pace, followed by a 1 day practical classroom session in Portsmouth. This accredited course meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set out by the Department for Education, making it ideal for anyone working in an Ofsted registered childcare setting. It’s designed to give you the confidence and skills to respond effectively to illnesses and injuries involving babies and children, both in professional and home settings.

Course Duration & Delivery
Total:
- 12 hours 6 hours e-learning (to be completed before the classroom session - within 6 weeks)
- 6 hours practical classroom training (typically 09:00 - 16:00)
What is covered?
- Assessing an emergency and taking the right action
- Managing unresponsive babies/children (breathing and not breathing)
- CPR for infants and children
- Using an AED safely
- Seizures, choking, shock, and severe bleeding
- Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions
- Electric shocks, burns, scalds, and fractures
- Head, neck, back, and eye injuries
- Poisoning and foreign objects in eyes, ears, or nose
- Treating bites, stings, heat exhaustion, and hypothermia
This course is available monthly at our UK training venues. For groups of 5 or more, it is often more convenient and cost effective to run the training at your workplace.
The course takes 12 hours in total, 6 hours online and 6 hours of classroom training.
Anyone working with children under 8, such as nursery staff, childminders, and early years educators, must hold a valid certificate that meets EYFS standards.
Your certificate is valid for 3 years from completion.
