The Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification (2 Day) course is designed for those whose 3 Day FAW certificate is close to expiry. It refreshes your essential first aid skills and updates your knowledge to ensure continued compliance with UK Health & Safety Regulations and HSE training standards. On successful completion, you’ll renew your Level 3 FAW qualification, remaining a certified workplace first aider for both low risk and high risk environments.

- Staff in low risk workplaces who originally completed the full 3 Day FAW course and must maintain compliance
- Anyone responsible for ensuring workplace safety under the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
Note: If you previously completed the 1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course, you only need to renew that specific qualification.
What is covered in the 2 Day First Aid Refresher Course?
This course refreshes skills for those who have already completed the full 3 Day First Aid at Work (FAW) course.
- Managing unresponsive casualties
- Performing CPR & safe AED use
- Recovery position and monitoring
- Heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes
- Anaphylaxis and shock
- Head, spinal, and chest injuries
- Fractures, sprains, dislocations
- Wounds, bleeding, and burns
- Eye injuries and poisoning
The First Aid at Work Requalification course lasts 2 days (around 12 hours total). Timings are usually 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM each day.
You should renew your First Aid at Work qualification every 3 years. However, it’s recommended to attend an annual skills refresher (half-day session) to keep knowledge up to date.
No. This course is only for those renewing a 3 Day FAW certificate. If you completed the EFAW, you’ll need to take the 1 Day Emergency First Aid renewal instead.
Your new FAW certificate will be valid for 3 years from the date of completion.
